- Entries close and must be received by the closing date. Show fills on a first come, first served basis. Entries close the Wednesday before the show. No late entries will be accepted. No refunds after the closing date. A $25 fee will be charged on any check returned by the bank.
- Entry forms require signatures at five places: owner, rider, trainer (mandatory) and coach/parent (if applicable). Adult responsible for the horse should sign in trainer’s spot. It is your responsibility to make sure entries are complete. Numbers will not be issued until entries are complete and all fees are paid.
- All juniors must wear properly fitting protective headgear passing or surpassing current applicable ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards with harness secured while riding anywhere on the Bear Valley Equestrian Center grounds. Harness must be secured and properly fitted. Any rider violating this rule at any time will immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is properly in place.
- Ride times will be available on the website (www.tehachapidressage. org) on the Wednesday evening prior to the show and exhibitors will also be telephoned. We will consider special time requests, although we cannot promise compliance. If you do not receive your ride time, it is your responsibility to contact the show manager.
- The 2007 US Equestrian tests will be used. Walk-trot tests are USDF Introductory Test A and B.
- Show High Point awards will be given in each division (Junior/Young Rider, Amateur and Open) for CDS Recognized classes of 1-3 entries. Schooling classes, (Walk/Trot, & FEI) are not eligible.
- There is a grounds fee of $10 per horse per day for all non-residents of Bear Valley Springs.
- An adult must closely supervise children at all times.

- Walk-trot classes are schooling classes designed for trainers with green horses as well as novice riders with green or schooled horses. All classes may be combined or split at the discretion of the show management.
- A 20 X 60m court with sand footing will be used. Warm up on similar footing. Lunging permitted only in designated areas.
- Limited stabling may be available at the show-grounds. If you wish to tie your horse to your trailer or set up your own small portable corral at the Bear Valley Springs Equestrian Center, you may do so. You may also stay in a recreational vehicle at the showgrounds for a small additional fee, payable to the Equestrian Center manager when you arrive. There are no hook-ups. If you wish to reserve a campsite or stabling, please contact Liz Beckham (661-821-3960) to make arrangements.
- It is your responsibility to call management to determine if the show is cancelled in the event of rain. The show will be held as long as the footing is determined safe.
- Any questions not answered in these rules will be decided by the horse show management. Their decision is final.
- Management reserves the right to make changes, as it deems necessary.
- CDS members who participate in a CDS recognized show may not be required to pay non-member fees to any other organization (National Federation – USEF or National Breed Organizations exempted) in order to participate in the show. For CDS recognized shows in California, Nevada, Arizona and Oregon, CDS agrees to a reciprocal non-member system where CDS will waive the non-member fee IF the competitor and/or owner is a member of another USDF GMO; and in return the show management will not charge CDS members a non-member fee for any other GMO. If the competitor and/or owner is not a member of CDS or any other GMO, then the show management will charge and collect non-member fees for CDS.
